Job Description
- The Field CTO role is a high-impact position focused on executive-level engagement, field enablement, and strategic product feedback. - Acts as an extension of the CTO and CEO to support sales teams by building pipelines, closing opportunities, and maintaining long-term relationships with customer leadership teams. - Trusted advisor providing business, technical, and organizational guidance and thought leadership to drive customer outcomes. - Works closely with regional sales leadership focusing on top-priority accounts with significant pipeline impact. - Technical leader and executive sponsor for key accounts, understanding customers' technical landscape and articulating how HashiCorp's products drive business success. - Influences strategic direction for customer messaging through collaboration with Strategy team, R&D, broader field, and industry events. - Showcases thought leadership and technical expertise via webinars, speaking events, round tables, white papers, marketing events, advisory boards, and executive briefings. - Contributes to public/internal messaging of HashiCorp principles and tech vision. - Regarded as a business and technical thought leader in IT/application operations.
Requirements
- Engineering/CS/MIS Bachelor’s Degree or military leadership position or 10+ years relevant experience - History of executive engagement or served at executive level - Comfortable speaking in front of crowds virtually (small to large) - Professional level English and German; additional European language is advantage - Well-rounded SME with technical depth in cloud automation, DevOps, security - Recent industry experience with deep technical background in DevOps & infrastructure automation tooling - High-level understanding of distributed computing architecture design principles - Ability to interact/influence business decision-makers (CxO) and technical decision-makers within Global 2000 - Experience leading/selling to large enterprise environments - Ability to communicate value proposition of complex enterprise solutions - Skilled in dynamic sales conversations influencing key stakeholders - Industry inspiring leader in customer meetings/public settings - Keeps close to industry trends for deeper product understanding - Strong verbal/written/visual communication/presentation skills including ad-hoc situations (comfortable on whiteboard) - Willingness/ability to travel up to 50%
