They stitch together disconnected criminal justice databases to create a standardized data layer powering data tools that save time and help criminal justice leaders support people behind bars and on community supervision. Their tools help parole officers identify needs such as mental health support, steady jobs, or reliable housing and direct people to appropriate support. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and became a standalone non-profit in 2019. They combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Their mission is safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
