We are looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to build, ship, and scale Samsara’s AI applications and capabilities end-to-end. As an AI Engineer IV, you’ll own the full lifecycle of AI-powered systems — from initial design and prototyping to production deployment, monitoring, and iteration. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders across Samsara to brainstorm, design, rapidly prototype, and productionalize AI-driven features and capabilities that integrate deeply into real business workflows. In this role you will:

• Build ship,and own end-to-end AI-powered applications from ideationand prototyping through production deployment monitoringand ongoing iteration.
• Architectand scale company-wide GenAI capabilitiesand domain-specific business applications embedded into real operational workflows.
• Designand integrate AISolutions with internal systemsand third-party platforms including SaaS tools APIs data platforms enterprise systems.
• Develop launchAI-powered solutions to improve efficiency personalization across business functions such as Customer Support People/HR Legal Finance.
• Collaborate closely with top-tier engineers data scientists business users in a fast-moving environment.
• Apply scale software engineering excellence including reliability observability maintainabilityof production AISystems.

Minimum Requirements for therole:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degreein Computer Science or related Engineering discipline.

-5+ years industry experiencein software engineering or AI product development including: -3+ years experience owning development testing deployment monitoring support web applications backend APIs. -1+ year experience building deploying production-ready Generative AISolutions with responsibilityfor reliability performance.

• Strong expertisein Python AI/ML fundamentals particularly Generative AISolutions(e.g., LLMs vector databases prompt engineering embeddings RAGsystems).
• ExperiencewithAI agent development frameworks tooling(e.g., LangChain LangGraph CrewAI LlamaIndex OpenAI SDK MCP A2A).

An ideal candidateis:

• Experiencedin0→1 MVP development iterative prototyping evolving prototypes into production-grade systems.
• Passionateabout staying up-to-datewith industry news AIDevelopment trends tools best practices.
