Brand Designer

About the role

We're looking for a brand designer who can help define and evolve Cursor's visual identity as we scale to a universal platform for building software. You'll work directly with the founding team to craft a brand that balances technical credibility with approachability, and resonates with developers today while welcoming designers, PMs, and creators tomorrow.

What you'll do

Evolve Cursor's brand identity across product, marketing, and community touchpoints
Design for multiple audiences from hardcore developers to designers exploring code for the first time
Create visual systems that scale across digital and physical mediums
Craft compelling narratives through design that communicate our vision for the future of software creation
Collaborate with product designers to ensure brand consistency across the user experience, and to shape product narratives
Ship fast, iterate constantly. Let the brand evolve as the product and company grow

You might be a fit if

You have a strong portfolio demonstrating brand work that's both beautiful and strategic
You've built or evolved brands for technical products or developer-focused companies
You think in systems and can create flexible design languages that work across contexts
You excel in motion, typography, illustration, and other brand disciplines
You can articulate design decisions and rally teams around a creative vision
You get energized by ambitious missions and want to build a brand that inspires people

Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truthseeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code. We're in-person with cozy offices in North Beach, San Francisco and Manhattan, New York, replete with well-stocked libraries.
