As an Outbound BDR, your primary responsibility is togenerate new business pipeline through proactive outbound prospecting. This is a pure outbound and individual contributor role.
In this role, you will
- Conduct targeted outbound prospecting via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and other channels to identify potential customers.
- Research and develop a deep understanding of target accounts94IT landscape, tools used, tech stack, budget indicators, personas, and organizational structures.
- Build and maintain a high-quality lead database for target accounts through account mapping and contact discovery.
- Execute structured outreach cadences using email, calling sequences, and social selling to engage prospects.
- Identify, qualify, and generate new sales opportunities using BANT or similar qualification frameworks.
- Educate prospects about Progress products - Nuclia
- Schedule Discovery Calls / Product Demos for the Account Management team with well-qualified prospects.
- Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions, qualification notes, and pipeline activity in Salesforce and SalesLoft.
- Optimize contact lists and campaigns through ongoing data hygiene, enrichment, and Opportunity-quality management.
- Collaborate closely with Account Managers and Marketing to align outbound strategy with territory goals and pipeline targets.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor movements, and customer pain points to refine outreach messaging.
- Contribute to the revenue engine by consistently creating strong, qualified pipeline opportunities.
Your background:
- 1 3 years of experience in Outbound Sales Development / Business Development, preferably in IT/Software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently engage technical and business audiences, including IT Managers and C-level executives.
- A proactive, self-starter mindset with a passion for outbound prospecting and achieving targets.
- Ability to manage high-volume outreach while maintaining quality communication and follow-up discipline.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of maintaining clean and accurate CRM data.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, SalesLoft (or similar tools), and proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Experience with database management, list building, or analytical tools is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while owning and driving individual goals.
- A bachelor’s degree (technical background preferred).
- Willingness to work in US Time Zone (5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST)
