Summary

We’re looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join HeyCharge and help us scale from a scrappy startup into a multi-entity, international organization with serious financial firepower. You’ll own everything from capital strategy and investor relations to financial systems, planning, and compliance. Alongside the CEO and leadership team, you’ll help shape our next stage of growth — while keeping us disciplined, automated, and forward-looking. This is a chance to be more than a back-office CFO: you’ll be a builder of systems, a partner in strategy, and a cultural driver of our automation-first, ownership-driven mindset.

HeyCharge is a Munich-based startup on a mission to make EV charging more accessible, reliable, and affordable. While hardware is required for EV charging, it’s incidental to our core offering: our powerful platform simplifies the entire lifecycle of EV charger management. From installation and billing to monitoring and load management, HeyCharge enables property operators to offer EV charging as an amenity without the complexity. As a full-service Charge Point Operator (CPO) in Germany, we work with leading property owners and asset managers to deliver turnkey charging solutions. At the same time, our patented SecureCharge technology powers a global platform, allowing other CPOs and OEMs to build their own services with offline-capable, cost-effective, and secure charging infrastructure. With backing from leading investors (including Y Combinator) and a growing international footprint, HeyCharge is scaling rapidly across Europe and beyond.

Responsibilities

Strategic finance & leadership: Partner with the CEO on capital strategy, investor relations, and board engagement; drive long-term planning and business model evolution.
Financial planning & analysis: Build forecasting, scenario modeling, and KPI tracking to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
Accounting & controllership: Oversee reporting, compliance, audits, and financial controls across multiple international entities.
People & organization: Build and scale a finance team; establish compensation, equity, and payroll systems; collaborate cross-functionally on hiring and compliance.
Investor relations & fundraising: Own fundraising readiness, investor relationships, and equity/cap table management.
Operational finance: Streamline billing, collections, vendor management, and revenue recognition; keep the AssetCo/OpCo humming.
Special projects: Lead international expansion, set up new legal entities and structures, explore M&A opportunities, and implement automation-first finance systems.

Qualifications

Proven track record in finance leadership roles (startup/scale-up experience preferred)
Experience managing multi-entity, international financial operations
Strong grasp of financial planning, accounting, compliance, and investor relations
Familiarity with modern finance stacks (ERP, Carta, spend management, FP&A tools)
Fluency in English; German is a plus
