The Founder & CEO is seeking a senior executive partner to assume increasing leadership responsibility and transition into the CEO role within 24–36 months. Location Requirements
Hybrid. Mostly remote, with required in-person attendance at weekly Wednesday morning team meetings in Fairfax, VA. Also requires periodic in-person client meetings and networking events across the DC metro area and day-trips to Boston office several times a year. Preference is candidate based in DC metro area but will also consider candidate based in Boston metro area.
Compensation
This role is designed with a competitive base and earning potential, with compensation heavily weighted toward company performance and long-term value creation. The right candidate will have a clear, structured path to meaningful ownership as they assume CEO responsibility.
Job Description
The Co-CEO will help shape FlexProfessionals’ forward-looking strategy and refine the firm’s mission and positioning in a rapidly evolving labor market, ensuring the company remains relevant, resilient, and well-positioned for a long, healthy future. Over a defined transition period, the Co-CEO will progressively assume responsibility for revenue growth, profitability, operations, and leadership development, working closely with the Founder throughout. This is a succession-oriented leadership role, not a supporting executive position.
Initial Scope (Year 1): Lead Growth and Client-Facing Execution in the DC Core Market
Business Development & Market Leadership
- Develop and execute growth strategies for the DC region to expand the client base and increase market share among small and mid-sized businesses.
- Evolve the firm’s value proposition, pricing, and service mix in partnership with the Founder to support scalable growth.
- Lead and support client-facing staff in the development and execution of business development plans; regularly assess progress and refine strategies.
- Build and cultivate a strong pipeline through direct prospecting, strategic connectors, referrals, and inbound opportunities.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for FlexProfessionals through networking, events, speaking engagements, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Partner with the Director of Growth and marketing to execute targeted campaigns including events, referrals, and top-of-mind outreach.
Client-Facing Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop client-facing, revenue-generating staff.
- Set performance expectations and manage accountability, productivity, and professional growth for the Account Executive team.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality client service and proactively address issues as they arise.
- Oversee disciplined use of Bullhorn ATS to manage leads, job fulfillment, and client relationships.
- Ensure continuity of client service during peak demand or staff absences, providing direct support when needed.
General Management
- Establish and monitor annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.
- Provide quarterly performance updates to the team to support transparency and continuous improvement.
- Execute client and vendor contracts.
Transition (Years 2–3)
- Lead growth and develop client-facing teams across both the DC and Boston markets.
- Improve scalability of systems, processes, and organizational infrastructure.
- Play a lead role in setting company vision, brand stewardship,and culture.
- Own day-to-day execution of the operating plan.
- Gradually assume enterprise-wide leadership responsibilities.
- Assume full P&L ownershipand people leadership by Year 3.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degreeand at least 10 years of professional experience; MBA preferred.
- Senior leadership experiencein staffing professional services or similar people-driven B2B business.
- Demonstrated success growing revenueand profitabilityin smallto mid-sized organizations.
- Established professional services relationshipswith connectorsand prospective employersin DC or Boston metro areas.
- Comfort operatingin founder-led environmentwith increasing decision authority.
