The Role

  • Ensure Machine Learning and Heuristic detection models are fit for purpose.
  • Partner with Engineering to provide end-to-end oversight and challenge throughout the model development lifecycle.
  • Design framework and build controls for real-time monitoring of Detection Models.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end technical oversight for compliance detection and AI resolution models aligning with regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, ML, and Analytics teams to build defensible solutions for Transaction Monitoring, Customer Risk Scoring, and Sanctions Screening.
  • Provide effective challenge during model development.
  • Ensure documentation meets regulatory standards (OCC 2011-12 and SR 11-7).
  • Oversee design/development of real-time dashboards monitoring model health including input data and performance.
  • Establish standards for threshold tuning and ongoing Below The Line (BTL) testing controls.
  • Create frameworks/triggers for detecting model performance degradation; oversee tuning or deprecation aligned with risk appetite.
  • Serve as Lead Incident Manager for critical incidents; quantify materiality and identify root causes with Engineering.
  • Provide concise data-driven updates to management; prepare documents for third parties.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve incidents.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in compliance technology at Regulated Financial Institutions or consultancy experience with FIs.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and Heuristic models in Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, Customer Risk Scoring.
  • Skilled in Threshold Tuning, Initialization exercises, Input Data Quality Monitoring, Model Performance Monitoring.
  • AML Model Validations experience aligned with SR 11-7 and OCC 2011-12.
  • Experience responding to Exams and working with Regulators.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of regulated financial services compliance obligations.
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts related to machine learning.
  • Expertise in data analytics and visualization.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

Compensation

Pay ranges by zone (all zones listed have the same range): $217,800 6326800 USD Starting pay depends on skills, experience, qualifications, location, market conditions.
