About the role:
The Salesforce Developer will design and develop flexible and scalable solutions on Salesforce and CPQ platforms. This role requires expertise in Salesforce and CPQ design/development best practices to deliver business solutions. The Developer will collaborate with technical and cross-functional teams to implement enhancements, projects, resolve incidents, and requires analytical, technical, business acumen, and communication skills. You will develop tools to scale revenue-generating operations and increase sales efficiency. This multi-faceted role involves working with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Growth, Marketing, and Finance teams. This is a remote role open to candidates residing in Canada and the US except Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Seattle Metro.
In this role you will:
- Develop secure, scalable technical solutions on Salesforce and CPQ platforms.
- Create/collaborate on solution and technical design artifacts; present in cross-functional review sessions.
- Communicate technical solutions and design tradeoffs to Business Applications team members and stakeholders.
- Display expertise in Salesforce and CPQ functionality throughout Business Applications projects.
- Provide technical support for new projects/enhancements/bug fixes on Salesforce & CPQ platform solutions.
- Work with Business system analysts to design & implement end-to-end automation.
- Analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies and critical metrics.
- Coordinate/collaborate with developers/team members for requirements gathering, solution design development, UAT management & post-go-live activities.
- Establish best practices/standards for well-designed/testable/efficient/high-quality code.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5+ years Salesforce development experience or 3+ years plus a Master’s Degree.
- 2+ years extensive knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud or Salesforce CPQ experience.
- Web services experience preferred (REST, SOAP).
- Familiarity with integrated applications such as Mulesoft preferred.
- Self-starter; able to work independently; prioritize effectively; multitask under minimal supervision.
- Experience contributing to setting up CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in agile development methodology.
- Familiarity with Apex Enterprise Design Patterns is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills; proven success in dynamic/collaborative environments.
- Experience designing test plans; performing unit testing; writing test classes ensuring proper code coverage.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Highly organized; detail-oriented; able to work independently.
- Working knowledge of Web and Javascript frameworks.
- Certifications: Platform Developer, Platform App Builder preferred.
Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy:
Samsara’s compensation program delivers Total Direct Compensation (role/level/geography-based) at or above market via base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles including new hire RSU awards & annual refresh grants. Top performers may receive above-market equity refresh awards. Salary Range: $86,275—$116,000 USD annually (base pay varies by location/experience).
