Position Overview:

  • Anticipated Schedule: Primarily Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for up to $10,000 for qualified external candidates, per Sutter Health policy.
  • Competently performs routine and specialized computerized tomography (CT) procedures to produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease.
  • Works independently using sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures delivering accurate results timely.
  • Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their family/support group, and healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
  • Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures ensuring privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
  • May perform specific procedures and/or help orient other staff to the department.

Education:

  • Graduation from a JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technologist Program prior to start date.

Certification & Licensure:

  • CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist (from state where work is performed) prior to start date.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
  • RHF - Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate.
  • CVENI - Certified Venipuncture.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • General knowledge of diagnostic computerized tomography principles, procedures, views, and equipment; some experience responding to traumas and hospital emergencies.
  • Capable of performing routine CT examinations with basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences including non-medical people.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize assignments; work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related information systems including Radiology (RIS), Laboratory (LIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), EPIC, Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS).
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; capable of accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensure privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
