Director, Regional Sales - East

An overview of this role

As the Regional Director for our Commercial AMER vertical, you’ll lead a 5-person team of Commercial Account Leaders to grow adoption of GitLab’s AI-powered DevSecOps platform across existing and new commercial customers. Reporting to the Area Vice President, you’ll be accountable for software bookings and revenue in your territory. This person MUST be located in the Eastern or Central Timezone.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage a 5-person Commercial AMER sales team.
  • Drive sales strategy and deal execution across existing and new Commercial customers.
  • Analyze market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Prepare accurate forecasts aligned with corporate revenue objectives.
  • Educate your team on competitive products and market trends.
  • Establish performance metrics using data-driven coaching.
  • Recruit and onboard Commercial sales talent.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, Marketing, Customer Success.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated progression in field sales within open source software or SaaS environments.
  • Experience leading high-performing commercial sales teams.
  • Proficiency managing pipelines using Salesforce or similar tools.
  • Ability to analyze market dynamics and competitive offerings.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Clear communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with sound judgment.
  • Alignment with GitLab’s values.

About the team

Our AMER Commercial Sales team is distributed and all-remote focusing on new business expansion within Commercial segment with accurate forecasting and thoughtful territory planning.
