Role Summary:

• Report to Head of Electrical Engineering
• Ownership of projects through all phases of product design lifecycle
• Focus on electrical design for bitcoin mining systems including system architecture, schematic capture, PCB design collaboration, board-level bringup/validation, and manufacturing support
• Work with ASIC design team on system-facing specifications and prototyping systems for ASIC verification
• Interface with mechanical and firmware teams for cohesive mining systems development
• Experience with high density interconnect PCB design, high power systems (>1kW), and thermal design techniques preferred
• Experience designing bitcoin mining systems strongly preferred

Qualifications:

• Design circuits and electrical systems for Block's Bitcoin hardware products
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and factory test engineers
• Work with customers to understand electrical infrastructure and requirements
• Travel 10–20% to support manufacturing

Required Experience & Skills:

• 10+ years as electrical engineer in embedded systems
• Experience designing electrical systems for bitcoin mining
• Electrical system architecture expertise
• Hardware lab expertise in test, measurement, prototyping
• Developing schematics and leading PCB layout activities
• Experience with high-power PSUs (>1kW)
• Familiarity with communication interfaces: SPI, USB, I2C, RS232, Ethernet
• Hands-on EMC design and debugging experience
• Extensive on-site factory experience with contract manufacturers
• BS in electrical engineering or related field
• Experience with electrical simulation tools (SPICE, electromagnetic)

Preferred (Even Better):

• Familiarity with Altium Designer
• Board-level analog design experience
• Thermal management experience including immersion and hydro cooling
• Embedded firmware programming in C
• Lab instrument automation using Python
• Familiarity using AI to accelerate workflows
