Role Overview - Exceptional Engineer:

  • Hiring a very small number of exceptional engineers to raise the average quality of the team.
  • Candidates should ship fast and well, proven under high stakes and pace.
  • Looking for top-tier engineers known for handling hard, ambiguous, or critical problems.
  • Must combine speed with craftsmanship—shipping quickly without leaving a mess.
  • Experience in hyper-growth environments with rapid scaling of users, systems, or teams.
  • Strong ownership mentality: proactively finding and solving problems regardless of code ownership.
  • Strong technical judgment about abstractions, data models, and tradeoffs with humility.
