Scispotis the data and automation layer for selfdriving labs. We give diagnostics, biotech, and testing teams a flexible backbone that can stand in for traditional ELN, LIMS, SDMS, and QMS tools. Connect instruments. Standardize data. Automate workflows. Collaborate in real time. No code.

Position Overview:

As a Field Application Scientist (FAS), you'll be the scientific voice in our sales and customer success journey. You'll work directly with biotech and diagnostics teams to understand their workflows, design compelling demos, and guide them through successful evaluations and onboarding. Your expertise in ELN, LIMS, lab information, or molecular diagnostics will help customers bridge the gap between wet-lab science and digital transformation. You'll partner closely with sales, product, and engineering to land "aha" moments, ensure early wins, and shape the future of how scientists work.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Demos:

  • Deliver compelling product demos and proof of value projects that show the delta from current pains in their scientific workflow to their future state.
  • Translate scientific workflows into clear, vision-based presentations that resonate with scientists and decision makers.
  • Provide personalized training and guidance during onboarding and adoption.

Technical Expertise:

  • Apply your background in drug discovery, molecular diagnostics, ELN/LIMS, or regulated lab workflows to customer use cases.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize configurations for key workflows (sample management, assays, compliance, CRO/CDMO collaboration).
  • Test and provide feedback on new features to ensure real-world impact.

Collaboration & Insights:

  • Partner with Account Executives in sales conversations to accelerate deal cycles.
  • Share customer insights with product and engineering to shape roadmap priorities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and workshops.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: MSc or PhD in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • Technical Experience: Hands-on experience with LIMS, ELN, or molecular diagnostics workflows.
  • Customer-Facing Experience: 3+ years of experience in customer-facing roles (applications, presales, or support) preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and demo skills with the ability to engage both scientists and executives.
  • Work Style: Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving customer problems.
  • Bonus: Training in Great Demo or other vision-generation demo methodologies.

Why Join Scispot:

  • Real Impact: Your scientific expertise will directly shape how labs transform their operations and accelerate research.
  • Startup Exposure: Work directly with founders and gain experience across all aspects of a growing SaaS business.
  • Growth Opportunities: This role has clear paths to advancement as we scale our customer success and applications team.
  • Collaborative Culture: Join a supportive, innovative team that values your ideas and celebrates your wins.
  • Flexibility: Remote work flexibility that respects your schedule.
  • Global Team: Collaborate with talented people across countries and gain exposure to diverse perspectives.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives
  • Full healthcare coverage (post-probationary period)
  • Remote work flexibility
  • Significant growth opportunities and career advancement
