Job Description

Weave (YC W25) is building the definitive platform for understanding and improving how engineering teams work. They believe current methods of measuring engineering output are fundamentally broken and that modern AI can provide a more accurate and actionable view of productivity, impact, and collaboration. Trusted by over 200 customers including Robinhood, Rho, PostHog, and Browserbase, Weave has achieved consistent double-digit month-over-month revenue growth since May and aims to accelerate this growth. As Weave's Founding Design Engineer, the role involves making complex engineering data simple, beautiful, and actionable by owning the intersection of design and engineering. Responsibilities include building design systems and frontend standards to make features easier to build and more delightful to use. The goal is to create experiences that make customers' jobs 10x easier. Weave has raised a $4.2M seed round backed by Moonfire, Burst Capital, and Y Combinator (W25). This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape how millions of engineers and leaders understand engineering work. What We’re Building:

  • Rethinking engineering output from first principles using AI
  • Understanding how engineers actually work (beyond just what they ship)
  • Surfacing meaningful insights about productivity, quality, collaboration, and impact
  • Helping teams improve outcomes without vanity metrics or surveillance
  • Optimizing for better engineering rather than just more output

The Team:

  • Andrew (CTO): founding engineer at Causal, MIT alum
  • Adam (CEO): former sales executive with experience scaling sales teams from $0-30M ARR

The team is small, intense, highly collaborative with real ownership from day one. Must Haves:

  • Formidable design engineer with strong design taste and engineering skills
  • Pragmatic approach in a startup environment
  • Comfortable in both Figma and code
  • Empathetic with users; voice of the user in product decisions
  • Passionate about helping software engineering teams be great
  • Excellent communicator able to convey complex data clearly
  • Gritty with persistence through challenges

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience designing/building data-dense interfaces, dashboards, analytics tools, developer tools
  • Prior thinking about engineering productivity improvement
  • Portfolio showing design sensibility and implementation ability (ideal but not required)
