About the role:

We seek an experienced and motivated Software Engineer to join our Connected Asset Maintenance team. Maintenance is a new product at Samsara with opportunities to shape its foundations. The team builds a cutting-edge platform leveraging digitization, intuitive interfaces, and centralized data to drive operational efficiency and modernize physical workflows. In this role, you will combine strong software engineering expertise with excellent communication skills to collaborate within and across teams. You will build and scale systems supporting Samsara’s rapidly growing customer base and build frameworks integrating across multiple product surfaces. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.

In this role, you will:

Work with product managers, designers, firmware, and infrastructure engineers to architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile using technologies like GoLang, GraphQL, Typescript, React, ReactNative (direct experience not required).
Maintain production systems owned by your team and provide operational support.
Help build a positive team culture.
Solve problems enabling our product for global customers.
Partner with other teams for requirements prioritization and evangelize the platform being built.

Minimum requirements for the role:

2+ years professional experience building customer-facing applications
Strong programming/coding fundamentals in languages such as Java, Python, Golang or TypeScript
Experience designing/architecting large high-scale systems
Ability to estimate, communicate & deliver project milestones with your team

An ideal candidate also has:

Experience with public cloud such as AWS
Familiarity with multiple tiers like React Frontends & Microservices
Significant contributions driving value for customers
Curiosity about customers & eagerness to improve their experience
Passion for shipping features immediately used by customers
Desire to iterate on new products based on customer feedback
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Compensation & Benefits:

Annual Base Salary: $113645—$191000 USD (varies by location/experience) Total Rewards: Above-market total compensation including base salary performance-based bonus/variable pay & equity (for eligible roles). Differentiated pay for top performers with opportunities for above-market compensation over time.
