About the Role
The Head of Category Expansion will spearhead Vahan’s next wave of growth by launching and scaling entirely new worker categories and verticals from scratch. You’ll operate as a mini-CEO for all new categories — owning research, operations, product thinking, and strategy to take the category from 0 to 10 and ensure lifetime viability. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute scalable GTM and operating playbooks, while ensuring profitability and long-term category success. This is a high-stakes, high-ownership role that sits at the core of our strategic growth roadmap.
What You Will Own
- New Category Launches: Drive the launch of new worker categories—from market research and GTM planning to execution and early traction.
- P&L Ownership: Own and manage the end-to-end P&L for each new category, ensuring financial viability and hitting revenue targets.
- Playbook Development: Design scalable operational and product playbooks to ensure categories are built to last—not just to launch.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Work across Product, Sales, Operations, and Marketing to align efforts, unblock dependencies, and deliver results.
- 0→10 Execution: Build traction in early stages, get the first 1000 workers placed, and set the roadmap for scaling to 10x.
- Process vs Product Thinking: Make sharp judgment calls on when to solve problems via product, process, or people, ensuring fast, cost-effective growth.
- Strategic Initiatives: Continuously identify new opportunities, pilot initiatives, and evaluate category adjacencies for future expansion.
