THE ROLE

Head of Merchandising, CPG Canada

This role is responsible for launching and expanding the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) product assortment (Health & Wellness, Beauty, Fragrance, Food & Beverage) on Quince Canada. The goal is to connect customers with the best products at affordable prices by managing assortment, revenue, margins, and growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end merchandising for CPG in Canada: category strategy, assortment, launches, performance.
  • Set long-term localized category strategy; possibly build local department leveraging larger catalogue.
  • Manage all regulatory requirements for bringing products to market in Canada.
  • Partner with Marketing on go-to-market strategy and execution for CPG departments.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Sourcing to maximize category margin.
  • Use data analysis (sales velocity, margin, return rate) to drive decisions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Planning, Marketing to ensure product launches meet local requirements and maintain stock.
  • Use data on ratings/reviews/returns to improve product quality.
  • Assist onboarding of best-in-class vendors locally as needed.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities in assortment; contribute to broader product roadmap.
  • Develop site merchandising strategy including Product Detail Page improvements and navigation/filter optimizations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Based in Toronto; 4 days/week (Monday-Thursday) in office.
  • 8-10 years experience in CPG categories (preferably consumables like Food & Beverage or Health & Wellness) with ownership of category performance.
  • E-commerce or direct-to-consumer experience preferred.
  • Proven career progression with increasing responsibilities.
  • Product-focused with experience using data tools and external sources.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; skilled at building scalable processes and cross-functional alignment.
  • Continuous learner; adaptable and proactive facing challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated by fast-paced collaborative environments requiring flexibility.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Compensation

Base salary range: $125,000 - $150,000 CAD Bonus and equity may be provided for eligible roles.
