We are seeking a highly autonomous Lead DevOps Engineer in the APAC region to support a key client's FinOps and infrastructure stabilization initiatives, requiring a minimum of four hours of overlap with Australia. This urgent role's primary mission is to drive significant Azure cost reductions by architecting and executing the migration of a commercial platform from expensive Azure App Services to a standardized, containerized setup using Kubernetes. The successful candidate will systematically audit and remediate an inconsistent environment, safely detaching legacy infrastructure, and implementing rigorous governance through standardized naming conventions and resource tagging. We require senior-level expertise in Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and FinOps, along with the ability to provide strategic technical leadership and operate independently. Required Technical Skills

• Azure Cloud & DevOps: Senior-level proficiency managing Microsoft Azure environments and utilizing Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerisation: Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Docker.
• FinOps Focus: Demonstrable experience in cloud cost optimization and efficient resource provisioning.
• Advanced Azure Governance: Practical experience in Azure policy enforcement, resource governance, and applying strict tagging taxonomies.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Ability to review and rewrite existing Azure Bicep code. Transferable skills from Terraform, CDK, Cloudformation, or Pulumi can be considered.

Highly Preferred / Advantageous Skills

• Azure App Services: Strong hands-on experience managing and performing architectural migrations from Azure App Services into Kubernetes.
• Core Technology Stack: Experience with JavaScript, Vue.js, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Managed Databases: Familiarity with managed Azure databases, specifically Postgres and MySQL.
