Lead Learning Experience Designer

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Lead Learning Experience Designer to create innovative, engaging, and accessible learning experiences that strengthen the capacity of volunteers and communities across the Wikimedia movement. You’ll help contributors develop the confidence, skills, and knowledge they need to participate effectively, navigate Wikimedia’s communities and practices, and grow as contributors. In this role, you’ll partner with program teams to design learning experiences that support community growth and engagement. You will lead learning design projects from conception through implementation using research-based methods.

Responsibilities

Design innovative learning experiences for diverse audiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program managers and community members.
Use data-driven approaches to evaluate learning effectiveness.
Lead project planning and execution.

Requirements

Proven experience in learning experience design or instructional design.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with Wikimedia projects or open knowledge communities.
Experience with e-learning authoring tools.
Knowledge of accessibility standards.
