Lead Production Engineer

About The Role As a Lead Production Engineer,youllplay a key role in building, scaling, and improving the manufacturing of AON3Ds industrial 3D printers.Youllbe responsible fordeveloping, documenting, andoptimizingassembly processes, ensuring consistent product quality and reliability, and collaborating with Design, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support production ramp-up and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the heart of operations; ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical problems, refining manufacturing systems, and driving efficiency. What You Will Do
- Develop, document, and improve assembly and production processes.
- Support daily production activities and troubleshoot technical issues on the line.
- Own assembly, alignment, and calibration processes for linear motion systems(rails, bearings, belts, ball screws, motors, encoders).
- Troubleshoot motion-related issuessuch as accuracy, repeatability, vibration, wear, and transport-induced misalignment.
- Lead root cause analyses (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Work with Design Engineering to review designs (DFM/DFA) and integrate changes into production.
- Design andvalidatefixtures, tooling, and test setups, includingend-of-line functional and motion validation tests.
- Contribute to pilot builds and production ramp-ups.
- Define and improve packaging, crating, and shipping methods to ensure printers arrive on-site without loss of performance or damage.
- Support investigation of field and post-shipment issues, feeding lessons learned back into production, test, and packaging processes.
- Train and support assembly technicians tomaintainquality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across key metrics: yield, cycle time, scrap rate, safety, and reliability.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor9s degree in mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role involving complex electro-mechanical systems with precision linear motion.
- Hands-on experience assembling aligning,andvalidatinglinear motion systems (e.g., rails bearings belts ball screws motors).
- Experience supporting shipped physical products including packaging considerations,logistics constraints,and post-shipment or field issue resolution.
- Strong understanding of assembly methods manufacturing processes,and quality systems.
- Proficiencywith CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience with process documentation troubleshooting,and production support.
- Practical structured,and hands-on problem solver.
- Excellent communication,and teamwork skills.
- Fluent in English,and French (spoken & written).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with lean manufacturing PFMEA or process validation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo experience a plus).
- Experience with industrial capital equipment automation CNC robotics or motion-critical machinery.
- Hands-on 3D printing or industrial equipment experience.
