A Candidate's compensation package is finalized once the interview process is concluded and accounts for demonstrated experience, job knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity. We use a business impact approach to base pay, which means we set pay for all Zapiens based on their demonstrated impact on Zapier’s success. In alignment with that philosophy, the upper half of a pay range is typically reserved for individuals who have consistently demonstrated a high impact in their current role and level while at Zapier. We’re looking for a sharp, practical, and technology-forward lawyer who thinks like a business operator and is eager to develop across a broad range of legal and business problems. About You:

You have exceptional drafting and negotiation skills. You are experienced at drafting and negotiating a range of inbound and outbound commercial contracts, including technology/cloud agreements, SaaS service agreements, contractor/consulting agreements, events-related agreements, and other business agreements.
You can research an unfamiliar regulation and apply strong business judgment to turn it into a practical recommendation. You have a knack for analyzing and assessing laws, regulations, and policies across multiple jurisdictions to extract the most relevant provisions for the business. You are comfortable with assessing risk and proposing solutions that balance risk with business goals.
You love new challenges. You have experience with, and an enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity for new legal issues. You are a creative thinker who is comfortable with change and ambiguity, and excited to learn areas of the law that may be new to you.
You think of yourself as a builder in legal practice. You see AI not as a one-off tool or a collection of isolated use cases but as a new way of working. You are excited to integrate AI throughout your day-to-day practice, use it to process and analyze information, and help build and continually improve the systems and workflows through which legal work gets done.

Qualifications & Experience

Juris Doctor degree
Admitted to practice and in good standing with one or more state bars in the US
4-8 years of legal experience across commercial operational or general corporate matters
Combined law firm & in-house experience at SaaS/technology company preferred but not required.

Things You’ll Do:

Lead responses to legal tickets from teams across Zapier including sales procurement HR teams; escalate subject matter experts as needed.
Own legal support for procurement NDAs vendor contracts including intake through Zip Ironclad; partner procurement team & stakeholders across Zapier draft review negotiate inbound SaaS service consultant/contractor agreements.
Own day-to-day legal support mid-market sales deals including order forms DPAs MSA redlines; collaborate commercial counsel providing effective efficient legal support closing sales deals.
Serve day-to-day point person extending legal team’s existing automations including NDA vendor contract review workflows legal ticketing workflows Zip Ironclad intake; work closely General Counsel & rest legal team implementing technology improving quality efficiency effectiveness.
Support legal team other matters needs arise including partnering employment counsel personnel-related questions helping monitor legal developments affecting Zapier coordination internal external subject-matter experts.
Advocate finding implementing “right” solution compliant meets business goals committed customers people Zapier’s core values.
Understand company-wide goals develop systems processes metrics supporting Zapier’s growth.
