As a Manufacturing Automation Engineer, you’ll design and implement advanced robotics, control systems, and automated processes to maximize production efficiency. You’ll ensure consistent product quality by integrating automated testing and inspection systems while reducing cycle times and minimizing downtime. Beyond technical execution, you’ll lead continuous improvement initiatives at partner sites, collaborating across teams to scale operations, enhance safety, and support rapid innovation.

You will:

  • Design & Implement Automation Systems: Develop, program, and integrate automated equipment, robotics, and control systems to streamline assembly and packing processes
  • Optimize Processes: Analyze production workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then deploy automation solutions to improve throughput and reduce cycle times
  • Ensure Equipment Maintenance & Reliability: Establish preventive maintenance schedules for automated machinery and ensure minimal downtime through predictive analytics
  • Collaborate Cross‑Functionally: Work closely with manufacturing engineers, production managers, and IT teams to align automation initiatives with overall plant goals
  • Lead automation projects from concept through deployment, including budgeting, ROI, scheduling, and stakeholder communication

Essential Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of industrial automation systems – expertise in PLCs, robotics, sensors and control systems to design and maintain automated production lines
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes – understanding lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize throughput and reduce defects
  • Proficiency in programming and integration – ability to develop, troubleshoot and integrate automation software with hardware systems for seamless operation
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities – working closely with cross-functional teams (production, quality, maintenance, IT) to align automation solutions with business goals
  • 12+ years of related experience in Operations, Manufacturing and/or Engineering roles or equivalent skill

Desirable Requirements:

  • Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
  • Leads and coordinates IT and capacity‑expansion projects from development through testing and implementation, applying strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to quickly diagnose production issues, implement corrective actions, and minimize downtime
