Role Overview

At Function Health, we’re building a next-generation imaging network where clinical precision meets operational excellence. As an MRI Specialist, you will serve as a central force in elevating imaging quality across all partnered imaging facilities. This is not a traditional technologist role. You will operate at the intersection of clinical expertise, systems optimization, and education . From designing and standardizing protocols to solving complex safety scenarios and mentoring technologists, your work will directly shape the quality and consistency of MRI across a multi-site, multi-vendor environment. This hybrid role combines remote clinical oversight with on-site engagement including travel to onboard new facilities and ensuring sustained imaging excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Onboarding:
  • Onboard new imaging sites including protocol implementation and hands-on technologist training
  • Protocol Optimization & Image Quality:
  • Review and refine MRI protocols across multiple vendors (Siemens, GE, Philips, Canon etc.)
  • Optimize scan parameters to achieve superior image quality while maintaining efficiency.
  • Drive standardization while adapting to site-specific constraints
  • MRI Safety & Risk Management:
  • Evaluate implant and device cases to ensure MRI safety.
  • Promote and uphold MRI safety best practices across all sites
  • Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement:
  • Conduct routine image quality audits and protocol reviews.
  • Track and improve key performance metrics including repeat rates scan quality protocol adherence.
  • Identify trends and implement solutions to elevate clinical performance
  • Education & Training:
  • Develop maintain SOPs training materials internal knowledge resources.
  • Build structured training programs for technologists across partner sites.
  • Data & Workflow Optimization:
  • Have DICOM imaging workflow knowledge troubleshoot streamline data transfer issues.
  • Partner internal teams improve interoperability efficiency system reliability
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely operations technical medical teams continuously improve imaging workflows outcomes

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years experience as an MRI Technologist
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
  • Strong expertise in MRI protocols image optimization
  • Excellent communication training skills ability collaborate across teams
  • Proven ability adapt diverse clinical environments systems
  • Detail-oriented strong commitment clinical excellence MRI safety

Preferred Background

  • Experience working with at least two MRI vendors (e.g., Siemens GE Philips United etc)
  • MR Safety Officer (MRSO) certification
  • CT experience plus
  • Comfortable hybrid schedule working home ~30–40% travel
