Music Editor

The Music Mission team owns Spotify’s end-to-end proposition for music creators and fan experiences, building tools and services for creation, promotion, expression, and monetization.
The Editorial team shapes how millions discover and connect with music daily. This role helps define Spotify’s editorial strategy for Türkiye by combining cultural knowledge and data-informed programming to create timely, relevant, local playlists and experiences.
Location: Dubai
Role summary: Curate and shape the music listening experience by programming playlists across moods, moments, genres; develop editorial strategy for Türkiye; monitor emerging trends, rising artists, cultural moments; impact audience engagement on Spotify.

What You'll Do:

Curate and maintain Spotify editorial playlists (hits, genre-specific, mood/activity)
Develop and co-create editorial strategies for Türkiye
Analyze platform data to improve playlist programming/editorial performance
Stay connected to Turkish music landscape; identify new talent/trends
Translate music/cultural knowledge into engaging content
Lead/contribute to cross-functional projects aligning editorial with business/creative goals
Share cultural trends/insights internally to keep Spotify ahead in regional music movements
Listen across diverse genres to identify trends/programming opportunities
Use cultural expertise to innovate/expand programming/local initiatives
Maintain authentic/unbiased editorial voice for outstanding user experience

Who You Are:

5 to 7 years experience in music programming/curation, journalism or culture-focused role
Proven experience developing editorial/curation strategies
Deep passion for current/historical Turkish music trends
Comprehensive understanding of Turkish music ecosystem (mainstream to underground)
Instinctive sense of fitting music to moments/moods/cultural contexts
Strong writing skills translating insights into engaging content
Highly organized with project management skills
Great communicator thriving in cross-functional collaboration
Comfortable using data to inform decisions
Dedicated Spotify user/fan with intuitive platform grasp
Adaptable, proactive, energized by fast-changing environments
Fluent in Turkish and English (written/spoken)
Growth mindset and collaborative spirit
