Overview of the Operations Engineer role at Blissway:
- Blissway is a startup focused on simplifying toll collection and improving highway safety using Deep Tech, AI/ML, Hardware, SaaS, and IoT.
- The company has a lean team of less than 30 employees and operates on the Interstate Highway System in the US.
- The Operations Engineer role is full-time, located in Denver, Colorado, with an estimated salary range of $85K – $120K plus equity.
- The mission involves building intelligent roadside technology hardware (cameras, sensors, batteries, processing units) that operates unattended 24/7 in various weather conditions.
- Responsibilities include owning and building processes for production, inventory, testing, and documentation to ensure parts arrive on time, proper assembly instructions exist, and quality records are maintained.
- Daily tasks: build and manage production inventory system (parts tracking, reorder thresholds, BoM management), procurement and vendor management, create manufacturing SOPs, coordinate production runs, maintain quality documentation, collaborate with engineers on design changes, hands-on troubleshooting and process validation.
- Candidate profile: experience in production or inventory processes (manufacturing/assembly/kitting), comfortable with physical hardware troubleshooting, skilled in process documentation and vendor management, organized and systematic thinker able to work independently. Background in industrial/manufacturing/process engineering or operations management preferred.
- Nice-to-have skills: basic electronics knowledge to read BOMs and communicate with electrical engineers; experience scaling production volumes; familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
