The Role
The People Operations Specialist supports the day-to-day execution of Bright!Tax’s People Operations function, ensuring a positive and consistent experience for team members throughout their lifecycle. The role involves working closely with the People Operations Manager and business leaders to support People Ops systems, processes, and communications. It is suited for someone early in their People Ops or HR career who is organized, eager to learn, and excited to grow in a remote-first organization.
What You’ll Do
- Support hiring and onboarding operations: interview scheduling, candidate coordination, offer documentation, onboarding logistics.
- Maintain and update People Ops systems (including BambooHR) for accurate data, document management, workflow support.
- Serve as first contact for People Ops inquiries about HR systems, pay coordination, benefits, policies, role topics.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for smooth transitions.
- Assist with performance, engagement, learning, and development programs.
- Help coordinate team experiences and events (meetings, offsites) including planning and follow-up.
- Draft and maintain People Ops documentation, SOPs, templates, internal communications aligned with company values.
- Support compliance tasks and vendor coordination under People Operations Manager guidance.
What You’ll Bring
- Educational background or coursework in HR, People Operations, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism and discretion handling sensitive information.
- Service-oriented mindset interested in supporting team members.
- Comfort working fully remote across time zones.
- Curiosity, initiative, willingness to learn new systems/processes.
Nice to Have
- Completion of HR/People Ops/recruiting courses or certifications.
- Familiarity with HR tools like BambooHR through coursework or projects.
- Experience with documentation, process mapping or administrative coordination.
- Interest in employer branding, culture or team engagement initiatives.
- Exposure to global/distributed teams via school/internships/volunteer work.
