Who You Are

As a Pre-Sales Engineer at Gradle:

  • Work closely with customers, prospects, partners to optimize engineering productivity by improving build and testing processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Engineering teams to demonstrate Develocity’s value technically, business-wise and financially.

Sales organization support includes:

  • Hardened qualification/prioritization process for engaging right users/companies.
  • Strong product addressing real daily problems for developers/engineering leaders.
  • Standardized evaluation process delivering immediate technical value and ROI in days.
  • Referenceable brand name customers and OSS partners for prospect validation.

DPE University is recommended to get familiar with the product.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives using MEDDIC to identify/qualify/develop enterprise opportunities.
  • Conduct customer discovery; deliver demos, solution presentations and PoCs showcasing Develocity’s value.
  • Provide structured customer feedback to Product Marketing/Management/Engineering for roadmap influence.
  • Travel up to ~35% for customer sites/events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Pre-Sales Engineering/Solutions Engineering/Consulting or similar roles selling to enterprises.
  • Mindset focused on “Product Journey” and “Customer Journey” with desire to deploy impactful solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or prior experience as software or DevOps engineer.

Familiarity/technical understanding of:

  • Observability tooling (Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace)
  • Build tools (Maven, Gradle, Android, Bazel, npm, Python)
  • CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Harness, ArgoCD)
  • Artifact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
  • Software Supply Chain Security

Additional skills: excellent communication/presentation skills; time management; prioritization autonomy; strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MEDDIC or MEDDPICC methodologies.
  • Pre-sales experience with developer tools/observability/SaaS products.
  • Hands-on experience with Develocity product.
  • Use of Agentic AI tools daily for productivity.
