We are looking for aPrincipal QA Engineerwith extensive experience in Quality Assurance and test architecture to join our core QA team. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical leadership responsibilities. You will be a key driver in shaping the quality strategy, architecting robust test frameworks, and mentoring the next generation of QA engineers forMarkLogicServer. You will work autonomously and be relied upon as a technical authority for complex testing challenges across functional, automation, and scalability domains. As a technical leader within the development team, you will collaborate closely with architects, developers, and product managers to influenceeature esignorstability,efine quality gates,nd ensure the delivery of a rock-solid enterprise database. We seek a candidate with deep analytical skills, a provenck record technical ownership,n unwavering commitment to quality,nd exceptional communication skills to influence and guide both local and remote teams. In this role, you will:

• Provide technical leadership in QA: architect, design, and develop advanced, scalable test automation frameworks and infrastructure for thearkLogic ecosystem.
• Drive the overall test strategy for major features and releases, making key decisions on test approach,urity around testing, tooling,nd resource allocation for complex areas.
• Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive test plans for core database features including search indexing transactions security high availability.
• Master and extend our test automation suites (Java XQuery REST API) identify gaps build new frameworks as needed meet evolving product demands while adhering security best practices.
• Conduct in-depth root cause analysis of complex defects systemic issues provide detailed actionable insights development teams.
• Champion quality initiatives within Agile/Scrum process integrating testing seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines advocating shift-left methodologies.
• Act primary point contact testability automation quality concerns one or more development teams.
• Mentor coach senior junior QA engineers promoting best practices test design automation tool usage.
• Be customer advocate – proactively identify product enhancements usability improvements potential performance pitfalls customer’s perspective.
• Lead participate detailed reviews product requirements architecture design specifications providing critical feedback QA standpoint.
• Evaluate recommend integrate new testing tools technologies enhance team's capabilities efficiency.

Your background:

• 8+ years experience Software Quality Assurance significant portion focused enterprise-level database data platform testing.
• Proven experience technical lead principal contributor QA demonstrable history designing owning test frameworks infrastructure.
• Experience working hot fixes emergency patch releases address security vulnerabilities.
• Expert-level programming skills Java strong scripting skills Shell/Bash/Python.
• Deep hands-on experience UNIX/Linux systems server-side testing.
• Extensive experience architecting building test automation within Agile CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins,GITLab CI).
• In-depth knowledge software testing methodologies,test design techniques,and quality metrics.
• Outstanding debugging problem-solving,and analytical skills ability diagnose complex issues distributed system.
• Excellent communication collaboration skills ability articulate technical challenges solutions both technical non-technical stakeholders.

Additionally,it would beneficial if you have:

• Experience NoSQL/document databases (e.g., MarkLogic,MongoDB,Couchbase).
• Strong proficiency XQuery server-side Javascript XPath XML/JSON technologies.
• Experience search engine technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch Solr) information retrieval concepts.
• Familiarity performance scale testing principles tools (e.g., JMeter).
• Knowledge cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
• Experience enterprise RDBMS (Oracle SQL Server DB2) comparative analysis.
• Working understanding networking security distributed systems concepts.
