The Role: As a Product Designer at Middesk, youll play a pivotal role in helping businesses uphold strong compliance standards and manage risk with confidence. Youll design intuitive experiences that empower customers to make informed compliance and risk decisions in highly regulated industries. Working closely with Product and Engineering partners, youll own the end-to-end design process from discovery through delivery, bringing a balance of craft, systems thinking, and curiosity to every stage. We follow a hybrid work model, and for this role, there is an expectation of 2 days per week in our SF office. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance, as we believe in the value of in-person collaboration and building strong team connections while also supporting flexibility where possible. What Youll Do:

Partner closely with Product and Engineering to refine problems, explore solutions, and deliver designs that strike the right balance between customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
Own the end-to-end design process, from early discovery to launch, using design best practices to drive impact at every stage.
Translate complex data challenges into simple, intuitive experiences that build trust and clarity for our customers.
Use storytelling to bring clarity and meaning to complex business identity and risk concepts, helping others understand the twhy behind your work.
Shape and evolve Middesks design system and visual language to ensure consistency, accessibility, and craft across all products.

What Were Looking For:

Over 6 years of product design experience delivering impactful solutions for B2B products, bonus points if you have direct experience with designing for platforms that work with business or consumer data.
A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to design product experiences that turn complex or abstract customer challenges into simple, intuitive solutions.
Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering teams, driving alignment from discovery through delivery.
A systems thinker who bridges user experience and API-driven systems, with familiarity in developer tooling such as SDK configuration, setup flows, and technical onboarding.
Strong communication skills, able to clearly articulate design decisions and advocate for customers needs through compelling storytelling.
A proactive approach to advancing work, taking initiative to move projects forward and keep teams aligned through changing priorities.
Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, collaborating in shared design files, and effectively leveraging and maintaining design system components.

Nice to Haves:

Demonstrated ownership of a design system or component library including defining standards guiding its evolution over time partnering closely engineers ensure high-quality scalable implementation hands-on contribution plus.
Comfortable working front-end frameworks ReactJS contributing design changes independently minimal engineering support.
Bonus skills such illustration branding motion design photography other creative disciplines.
