- Position: Product Engineer

Role Description:
- The engineer will be a product-focused generalist responsible for turning Periodic’s advanced AI models into practical tools for scientists both internally and for customers.
- Responsibilities include prototyping end-to-end products that connect AI models with real lab systems.
- Iterating directly with scientists, model researchers, and customers to shape the right product.
- Owning the stack from schema design to API and minimal frontend deployment.
- Collaborating closely with materials scientists to observe workflows and proactively build useful tools.
What you’ll do:
- Prototype fast, ship often by building small sharp products used daily by scientists.
- Create lightweight apps such as chat-style interfaces, dashboards, experiment planners on top of frontier models.
- Collaborate with model researchers on product shape, telemetry signals guiding model objectives.
- Own deployment and observability aspects of products.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in product engineering involving AI/ML models.
- Proficiency in API design and frontend development.
- Strong collaboration skills working cross-functionally with scientists and researchers.
- Ability to rapidly prototype software products.
