About the role

Join the Product Partnerships team at Shopify and become a catalyst in the fintech and payments revolution. This isn't just a role; it's a mission to redefine commerce through strategic alliances. You'll partner with product, sales, operations, finance, legal, and marketing to innovate new product features and streamline user experiences with our most strategic partners. Think acquirers, banks, fintechs, PSPs, and gateways. Your expertise will shape the future of Shopify's Payments Product areas and our Payments Platform ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate deep insights into the payments ecosystem, supporting Shopify's global product strategies through diverse partnerships and integrations.
  • Master Shopify's merchant services products, collaborating with our Product team to leverage third-party solutions.
  • Steer relationships with leading fintech/payment giants, identifying and evaluating new growth opportunities across networks, wallets, and other payment verticals.
  • Own the entire deal process from initial qualification to launch, ensuring success through clear KPIs and growth targets.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create impactful co-marketing campaigns with defined goals and KPIs.
  • Engage partners with product updates and QBRs to amplify Shopify's brand and thought leadership.
  • Navigate contract negotiations and renewals, adapting to changing business priorities.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in building and implementing partnerships within fintech, commerce, technology, SaaS/BaaS, or financial services.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying ideas across all levels.
  • Proven experience in collaborative product development with strategic partners in the payments space.
  • Strong negotiating skills to drive positive-sum outcomes.
  • Robust cross-functional collaboration skills, able to manage multiple stakeholders and projects.
  • Self-directed, thriving on change, and able to prioritize effectively in a remote environment.

Bonus:

  • Experience managing complex product partnerships with large companies.
  • Startup experience where getting things done was paramount.
