Production Supervisor - Job Description

Company: Dell Technologies Location: Apex, North Carolina Shift: 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm)

Overview:

  • Primary logistics contact internally within Production Operations.
  • Steers daily workflow activities in the factory.
  • Manages operations processes and people to achieve quality output.
  • Oversees planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations.
  • Collaborates with internal teams including Operations, Logistics, Distribution, and IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise larger teams with operational focus in a functional area; may have supervisors or individual contributors as direct reports.
  • Accountable for group results regarding costs, strategies, and employees.
  • Develop employees through mentorship, training materials, and performance reviews; first level of management with HR responsibilities.
  • Participate as team member on large projects or lead smaller initiatives.
  • Assist in developing safety, quality, and velocity metrics; drive process improvements in their area of responsibility.
  • Ensure development and coordinate training of employees to meet current and future skill needs.
  • Develop staffing, equipment, and capacity plans to accommodate future workload and products.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years relevant manufacturing operations experience or equivalent education/work experience combination.
  • Physical ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Solid understanding of production/materials operations, planning, and forecasting techniques.
  • Presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift hours (3pm - 11pm).

Desirable Requirements:

  • 4-year degree.
  • Intermediate experience using spreadsheets and other office tools.
  • Continuous improvement experience (lean, six sigma).

Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $89,820 - $110,000
