The Role

• Build and operationalize regulatory and compliance systems to support market growth.
• Not just compliance but also building workflows, processes, tooling.
• Collaborate across Business Development, Legal, Product, Engineering.
• Enable launching new markets and maintaining compliance in existing ones.
• First hire in this function; shape it from scratch.

Salary range:

• EU: 90,000 - 130,000
• UK: 90,000 - 130,000
• US: $180,000 - 220,000

(Final offer depends on background, skills, performance; open to outlier candidates)

What You Will Do

• Build operational infrastructure for market expansion (regulatory readiness, product compliance checks, workflows).
• Translate regulatory requirements into clear systems and repeatable processes.
• Automate controls early with Engineering and Product to reduce manual work and scale efficiently.
• Manage filings, registrations, reporting; track deadlines to avoid slips.
• Track compliance health via metrics and dashboards; identify and fix issues quickly.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date policies, procedures, documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes across markets; build implementation plans proactively.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years regulatory/compliance experience ideally in telecom or regulated tech (fintech/payments).
• Experience building/scaling compliance systems in fast-moving environments; able to structure messy processes effectively.
• Ability to research/interpret legal/regulatory requirements including consumer protection, privacy (GDPR, CPRA, LGPD), infosec.
• Hands-on experience turning regulatory requirements into working processes (product compliance, vendor risk, cross-border operations).
• Comfortable with tooling such as GRC systems, databases, workflow automation; can build using AI but not necessarily an engineer.
• Strong communication skills bridging engineers and lawyers.

Bonus: Experience in fintech, B2B SaaS, data privacy or law degree.
