The Role

• Build core systems powering Klarity's multimodal agents in real enterprise environments.
• Hands-on engineering at the intersection of distributed systems and applied AI.
• Design and ship backend services for messy real-world data ingestion, model/agent workflow orchestration, enterprise-grade security, and reliable outcomes at scale.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to deliver production-grade AI features for Fortune 500 enterprises.
• Set technical direction for critical subsystems and mentor junior engineers.
• No CS or Engineering degree required; focus on ability to ship and strong execution.

Who You Are

• Backend engineer with sharp product judgment: design reliable, observable, secure, fast services/APIs/data models/infrastructure.
• Systems thinker with foresight: anticipate service evolution; design scalable production systems.
• Applied AI builder: experience shipping LLMs, multimodal agents, orchestration protocols; focus on evals, regression tests, traceability.
• AI-native developer: use AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot; build AI-assisted development workflows.
• Ship with velocity and craft: balance speed and quality; manage tech debt pragmatically.
• Bring energy that elevates the team: solve distributed systems challenges; unblock others via code reviews and documentation.
• Experience: 4+ years designing/shipping production-grade products.

What You'll Do

• Build backend services powering Klarity's AI platform end-to-end (data ingestion to deployment).
• Implement bulletproof AI orchestration pipelines with structured outputs, tool calling, state management.
• Balance long-term architecture vision with fast shipping cadence; own technical roadmap.
• Design for enterprise security: least privilege access, tenant isolation, auditability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to shape product features and technical plans.
