Senior Backend Engineer Role:

• Location: Remote/Toronto; Hybrid work type.
• Employment: Full time in Technology department.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and build Data Fabric powering mission-critical workflows.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and data teams.
• Design integrations with enterprise data stores and third-party APIs.
• Build event-driven data pipelines using Apache Kafka for real-time processing.
• Develop scalable microservices in Java.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI DSS.
• Mentor junior engineers; contribute to technical decisions.
• Implement observability via telemetry, alerts, dashboards.
• Conduct code reviews maintaining high quality standards.
