What will you do?

• Collaborate on technical vision to build customer-loved products.
• Develop/maintain low-latency, scalable developer-facing APIs and robust data platform for data science team.
• Design/implement systems supporting product and company growth.
• Debug production issues across all stack levels.
• Collaborate to deliver value to customers and internal stakeholders.

Experience, skills, qualifications:

• Remote friendly (option for NYC office), only US and Canada applicants.

Must-have:

• 6+ years building/scaling backend Python systems in fast-paced environments.
• Proven REST API development and performant SQL writing skills.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure.
• Experience building systems from scratch; autonomous execution in early-stage environments.
• Customer-focused mindset; strong problem solving; ability to navigate ambiguity delivering value.
• Collaborative mindset; ability to be mentored; focus on personal growth.

Nice-to-have:

• Proficiency in Django.
• Familiarity with data science/analytics tools: Pyspark, Databricks, Delta Lake, Hex.
• Experience with AWS CDK cloud infrastructure/tools.
• Experience with transaction, merchant, or location data.
• Interest or experience in fintech or data products.

Salary Range:

Base salary $200,000–$220,000 plus equity grant. Compensation considers experience, interview performance, market dynamics, internal equity.
