About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our partner’s WARD team within their foundational tech studio. In this role, you will shape how data is leveraged to enhance the experience for millions of players worldwide. By partnering with product teams across a global gaming ecosystem, you will design, process, and optimize data collected from a massive footprint of game servers. You will be responsible for building the "source of truth," ensuring that insights analysts and data scientists have the high-quality, scalable data marts they need to drive the product's growth.
Most Important
- 4+ years of experience developing scalable data systems and sophisticated data modeling.
- At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with Spark and distributed processing.
- Deep mastery of Python and SQL for complex data processing and analytics.
- Proven ability to manage infrastructure for moving and processing data at a global scale, including experience with
- cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Ability to lead projects from requirements gathering and telemetry instrumentation through to deployment and continued operation.
- Experience collaborating with game, web, and service engineers to design telemetry libraries and frameworks.
- Ability to overlap 6 hours with PST/PDT (USA).
Nice to Have
- Experience with platforms like Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Amazon Glue.
- Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Dataform, SQLMesh, Dagster, or Airflow.
- Experience using Generative AI tools to accelerate pipeline development and testing while maintaining strict production standards.
- A passion for gaming or experience handling high-concurrency telemetry data.
