Role Description: Dropbox is hiring a Senior Director of Product Marketing to lead the Core Dropbox portfolio. This senior leadership role manages a team of PMMs responsible for go-to-market strategy, product positioning, lifecycle programs, and adoption strategy across web, mobile, and desktop experiences. The role owns the product marketing vision and execution for foundational Dropbox surfaces: content organization, sharing, previews, and device access. It involves working closely with senior leaders in Product, Design, Growth, and Marketing to shape strategy and drive measurable business impact. Responsibilities:
- Lead Strategic Positioning and Messaging: Own and evolve the narrative for Dropbox’s Core experiences with clear, differentiated positioning grounded in user insights and product value.
- Build and Manage a High-Performing Team: Recruit, lead, and coach a team of PMMs; set priorities; provide clarity; build a high-trust, high-impact team culture.
- Own Product Marketing Strategy for Core Experiences: Define and drive go-to-market strategy for Dropbox Core; align efforts across product, growth, brand, and lifecycle marketing teams.
- Champion the Voice of the Customer: Lead deep customer and market understanding; ensure insights influence product, messaging, and activation strategies.
- Drive Product-Led Growth Initiatives: Partner with Product and Growth to identify friction in workflows; define activation strategies; test and optimize PLG motions.
- Operate as a Cross-Functional Leader: Build strong partnerships across executive stakeholders in Product, Design, Marketing, GTM; bring strategic clarity and strong execution.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in product marketing or related field including 3+ years in people management
- Experience leading GTM strategy for large-scale cross-platform products
- Proven success in owning/scaling product-led growth strategies
- Strong leadership presence influencing senior stakeholders
- Ability to coach high-performing PMMs
- Excellent communication/storytelling skills internally/externally
- Comfort working with data, research, customer feedback to drive decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading PMM functions in fast-paced matrixed environments
- Familiarity with productivity/collaboration/content storage software
- Ability to operate across PLG (Product-Led Growth) and SLG (Sales-Led Growth) motions
- Experience influencing product strategy at executive level
Compensation: US Zone 1: $301,800—$408,200 USD US Zone 2: $271,600—$367,400 USD US Zone 3: $241,400—$326,600 USD Salary is part of total rewards including corporate bonus or sales incentive plus RSUs.
