Senior Firmware Engineer
Redwood City, CA Engineering / Full-time / On-site At Reach, we are delivering technologies to enable the long-range, wireless transfer of power. The Position In this position, you will be a key part of Reach’s engineering team to develop firmware enabling fast, reliable wireless communication between devices in the wireless power network. You will also conduct research to improve the performance, flexibility, and integrability of Reach’s technology. As part of a small team in a small company, you will have a great deal of agency over your work, plenty of opportunity to discover and solve new challenges, and the ability to make large-impact decisions. It will be critical that you are a creative problem solver with strong curiosity, a passionate, proactive spirit eager to add value before it’s requested or identified by others.
Key Position Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the firmware team to analyze, design, develop, and deploy features to meet business, product, and technical requirements.
- Actively contribute to Reach’s code base by architecting and implementing features.
- Work with project management and other engineers to plan the effort and establish timelines for yourself and your team.
- Identify areas of need: Advocate for good coding practices and contribute to product innovation in hardware and software.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a firmware engineer or equivalent.
- Subject matter in C development.
- Proficient with firmware development in bare-metal or RTOS based systems.
- Experience with board bring up including schematics reading and PCBs debugging.
- Experience with python and scripting languages.
- Have a test-driven, analytical approach to debugging and problem solving.
- Proficient communicator and organizational skills.
Nice-To-Haves
- Experience with BLE systems or other wireless transfer technology.
- Experience with Nordic nRF52 development and Zephyr OS.
- Experience with full development cycles from prototyping to manufacturing.
- Experience with RF applications.
- Experience in software test automation.
- Experience working at a start-up or with a small, intimate team.
$150,000 - $200,000 a year The expected salary range for this role is based on market benchmarks and internal compensation practices. Final offers will depend on factors like experience, skills, seniority, and how each candidate aligns with the needs of the role.
