Senior Full-Stack Engineer - PHP

About the Role

This is a contract position for one of our clients that is looking forSenior Full-Stack PHP Engineersto power a long-term product engineering effort on a scalable SaaS platform. The core focus is PHP backend development. Most engineers will complement this with React skills for full-stack coverage, while one engineer should also bring strong React Native capability to drive mobile development on iOS and Android. You will help shape architecture, mentor peers, and work in an AI-forward engineering environment using modern developer tooling.

Most Important

• 6+ years of professional PHP development experience in a SaaS environment
• Strong expertise in PHP and MVC frameworks (Yii or similar)
• Deep understanding of scalable backend architecture and software design principles
• Experience building and maintaining scalable APIs
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience with relational databases and optimized SQL queries
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications on AWS
• Strong experience with unit and functional testing
• Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers
• Must be based in Latam with availability for team timezone overlap
• Develop and maintain React Native applications for iOS and Android

Nice to Have

• Experience with React (preferred for most roles)
• Familiarity with Yii or comparable PHP frameworks
• Contributions to open-source projects or the PHP community
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot

Additional Information:

X-Team hires full-time contractors (40 hours/week). Contractors handle their own taxes. Paid vacation is not provided but can be arranged; vacation time should be incorporated into hourly rate.
