Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer, Search Platform

Responsibilities:
- Build a next-generation, highly scalable in-house search platform powering Dropbox Dash (AI-powered search).
- Unify search experiences integrating Dropbox Dash with file and folder search.
- Support diverse search use cases: lexical, vector, multi-modal search, Q&A, recommendations.
- Scale indexing infrastructure to handle trillions of documents ensuring performance and reliability.
- Drive international expansion of the search platform for global users.
- Participate in on-call rotations as part of team responsibilities.
Requirements:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience.
- 9+ years professional software development experience.
- Proven experience with large-scale, multi-threaded, geographically dispersed backend systems.
- Proficient in Python, Go, C/C++, or Java programming and debugging.
- Experience with OS internals, filesystems, databases, networks, compilers is advantageous.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and take ownership of long-term projects.
- Ability to set medium-to-long term strategy for impactful projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Search Infrastructure tools such as ElasticSearch.
Compensation: US Zone 1: Not available US Zone 2: $202,700—$274,300 USD annually US Zone 3: $180,200—$243,800 USD annually Includes salary/OTE (On Target Earnings), corporate bonus program or sales incentive (if applicable), and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Additional Information:
