Senior IT Administrator
- Role: Senior IT Administrator
- Location: College Park office with support to two nearby satellite labs
Responsibilities:
- Onsite IT Operations and End-User Support:
- Primary technical liaison for main office and satellite labs
- Level 2 helpdesk and desktop support (hardware, software, connectivity, printers)
- Asset lifecycle management (provisioning, maintenance, retirement of hardware)
- Lab equipment IT support
- A/V management for conference rooms and events
- Lab Infrastructure & Configuration Management:
- Lab workstation setup and management (imaging, baseline setup, playbooks)
- Data access permissions and lab network services deployment
- Routine maintenance (software updates, reboots)
- Documentation of lab IT tasks
- Network and Infrastructure Assistance:
- Basic network troubleshooting (VPNs, switches, firewalls, wireless APs)
- Escalation to core engineering teams as needed
- Physical deployment of networking gear
- Strategic Projects and M&A Integration:
- Participation in corporate IT projects (upgrades, security initiatives)
- Remote site deployment for new/acquired locations
Qualifications:
- 6+ years in System Administrator, Desktop Support or Helpdesk role
- Hands-on end-user technical support experience in corporate environment
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux, macOS
- Experience with SAML-based SaaS apps (Okta, Entra, Jumpcloud)
- Support for cloud productivity apps (M365, Google Workspace)
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and troubleshooting experience
- A/V setup/support experience with video conferencing solutions (Zoom Rooms, Google Meets, Microsoft Teams Rooms)
- Strong organizational skills including inventory/asset tracking
- Excellent communication skills focused on customer service and documentation
- Must work onsite full-time in College Park
Preferred:
- Experience in fast-growing or tech-focused companies/labs
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA a plus
- Experience with Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) or scripting/automation (Python, Bash)
- Experience supporting research/engineering teams with custom lab software
- Experience with M&A IT support
Other details:
- Travel up to 10%
- Salary range approx. $107K-$140K base plus bonus and equity
