About the job
This position is needed to lead Twilio's Platform Engineering Secure Supply Chain team, which provides critical infrastructure for software development across the company. The team owns systems spanning source control management, build systems, and artifact management, ensuring secure and efficient software delivery for all of Twilio. This leader will drive strategy, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration with Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams while creating leverage and centralizing the cost of change across the organization.
Responsibilities

- Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for Twilio's secure supply chain infrastructure,... including source control management (SCM), build systems,... artifact management platforms
- Define and execute strategic vision for secure supply chain capabilities that create leverage... across entire engineering organization
- Partner closely with Security,... Product Engineering leadership to establish... secure supply chain standards,... best practices company-wide
- Drive operational excellence through metrics,... continuous improvement initiatives balancing security requirements with developer productivity
- Build strong relationships with internal customers/stakeholders,... translating business needs into technical solutions/roadmap priorities
- Develop engineering talent through coaching,... fostering culture of ownership,... collaboration,... technical excellence
- Champion automation,... self-service capabilities,... platform thinking to scale secure supply chain practices across diverse product portfolio
- Collaborate with peer engineering leaders... ensure cohesive technical strategy/efficient delivery
- Communicate technical strategy,... progress,... challenges effectively to senior leadership/cross-functional stakeholders

Required:
- 8+ years experience in software/platform/infrastructure engineering roles; at least 4+ years managing teams of 8-12 engineers
- Proven track record leading platform engineering teams/developer platform initiatives at scale in complex organizations
- Experience leading teams through significant technical migrations/platform modernization efforts
- Deep knowledge of source control systems (GitHub), build systems (Buildkite,...), artifact management platforms (Artifactory,...)
- Strong understanding secure supply chain practices in cloud environments (AWS,GCP,...)
- Experience partnering with Security/Compliance teams on security controls/vulnerability management/compliance without compromising developer velocity
- Strong people leadership skills including hiring/performance/coaching high-performing teams
- Excellent stakeholder management/communication skills; ability to influence/align cross-functional partners at all levels
- Strategic thinking balancing short-term execution against long-term vision/organizational impact
- Experience managing budgets/vendor relationships/build-vs-buy decisions for platform capabilities
Desired:
- Experience with software supply chain security frameworks (SLSA,...)
- Background in highly regulated industries or companies with significant compliance requirements (SOX,...)
- Contributions to open source projects or industry thought leadership in secure supply chain or developer platforms

This role is remote but not eligible for hire in CA,...
Travel
Occasional travel may be required for project/team meetings.

Compensation
Salary ranges provided apply only to candidates residing in certain states due to local requirements. Ranges: $207200-$304600 depending on location. May participate in equity plan/corporate bonus plan. Benefits include health care insurance/401(k)/paid time off/parental leave. Starting salary based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills/experience/location.
