Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Build scalable accounting processes to support revenue growth.
- Oversee month-end close activities related to revenue recognition.
- Evaluate accounting implications of new products; identify risks; involve technical accounting as needed.
- Lead revenue accounting efforts for integration of new products/services ensuring compliance.
- Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies/procedures for new products/systems.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, sales, legal teams on product offerings and revenue implications.
- Partner with technology & engineering to ensure data integrity between billing system, revenue recognition system, ERP.
- Drive/manage projects improving efficiency, accuracy, compliance using AI and automation tools.
- Manage interactions with external auditors for revenue accounting.
Here’s what we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
- 8+ years progressive experience in revenue accounting & quote to cash processes with strong ASC 606 knowledge.
- Managerial experience required.
- Experience in public company environment focused on automation and systems.
- Proven experience leading revenue accounting efforts for new products.
- Strong understanding of full Quote to Cash lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Results-oriented self-starter able to manage projects end-to-end meeting deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; effective cross-team collaboration ability.
- Experience with Netsuite and Revenue Recognition systems is a plus.
Our cash compensation amount for this role is $168,085/yr to $207,305/yr for San Francisco & New York locations. Final offer amounts depend on candidate location, experience, expertise; may vary from listed amounts. Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco (including San Jose metro area), New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2–3 days per week or more depending on role. When approved to work from other locations than Gusto offices, a secure reliable internet connection is required including non-office days for hybrid employees.
