In this position as a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will develop innovations for exciting new PC products. The Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer will drive innovation, share knowledge across the technology community, and contribute to industry leading products. You will:
- Influence future mobile product design by providing technical expertise and engineering leadership, with a strong focus on the front-end design cycle
- Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to define innovation strategies and generate customer-focused design concepts
- Lead technical decision-making across multiple disciplines including industrial design, usability, quality, and reliability
- Develop and communicate design concepts using 3D CAD and FEA tools, and validate proof-of-concept prototypes for seamless integration
- Drive design enablement with external partners ensuring solutions meet specifications and are ready for integration into the product portfolio
Essential Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with a proven track record of delivering innovative, high-quality designs
- Deep expertise in engineering design principles including large-scale production, sheet metal, injection molding, electrical interconnects, heat extraction, and vibration control
- Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD systems (CREO preferred), with ability to create concept models, analyze production designs, and clearly communicate technical ideas
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills capable of interpreting mechanical simulations, evaluating design trade-offs ensuring optimal cost performance quality
- Collaborative mindset with experience driving design concepts forward partnering effectively with internal teams external development partners while thriving independently or in teams
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience designing analyzing electronics enclosures; PC server or similar product experience plus.
- Practical experience machine shop operations prototype building.
Compensation:
Salary range $174250 - $225500 per year.
