About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer motivated by the opportunity to build delightful user experiences in the tax prep space. As the first design hire, you’ll get autonomy, ownership, and ship experiences that have a high impact across the entire product. Here are some things we’re opinionated about when it comes to the design role:

A unique set of responsibilities

Our team works in pairs to release new features or iterations of an existing surface area (PM+Engineer or Designer+Engineer). With fewer stakeholders closely working on specs, our teams are able to move faster than the traditional “Trinity” (PM+Designer+Engineer). Crisp, clear documentation

Great docs are the antidote to back-to-back meetings. We try very hard to keep our communications as efficient as possible by doing live meetings only after the context has been shared and pre-read asynchronously.

A servant leader mentality

You will have enormous responsibility and influence as the first design hire at Keeper. The rest of the team is giving you that authority because they trust and respect you. It’s a delicate balance and requires a low-ego mentality while still driving clear, opinionated decisions.

What You’ll Do

Lead design for core product areas, ensuring user journeys are not just functional but delightful and streamlined across our entire offering.
Partner with Marketing to own the public website and evolve our visual identity ensuring a seamless and polished transition from our “front door” to the core product experience.
Work directly with Product and Engineering to translate high-level company goals into a prioritized roadmap identifying highest-impact problems to solve.
Drive customer research process—from conducting user calls to synthesizing feedback—ensure customer insights are at heart of every product decision.
Tackle complex interconnected challenges by sweating details using rapid prototyping to find simplest path to great user experience.
Be opinionated propose process improvements share best practices help evolve shared design system.

What You’ll Need

3+ years experience designing digital products at fast-growing B2C tech company with track record taking features from concept to launch thriving in fast-moving environment.
Grasp both UX/UI product design able architect complex user flows distill ambiguous requirements into polished elegant interfaces.
Demonstrated experience conducting user research synthesizing feedback comfortable leading customer calls.
