About Keeper
The tax filing industry hasn’t been disrupted in 35 years and the U.S. has 3x accountants per capita vs other developed nations. Even for middle class American households, getting a fair tax outcome requires an expensive accountant. Software might be eating the world, but not when it comes to tax preparation. Over half of American households still file each year through human tax professionals. We’re on a mission to change that. AI has unlocked the opportunity to build a truly intelligent and personalized tax filing experience competitive with the best accountants. As a Sr. PM at Keeper, you’ll be driving this vision forward. Here are a few examples of what that looks like:
- Our automatic write-off identification technology allows people to simply connect a financial account, wait 45 seconds, and watch as hundreds of deductions get added to their tax refunds.
- Our tax document data extraction systems make it possible for users to simply upload whatever documents they have in bulk and Keeper takes care of it — akin to dropping off forms with an accountant.
- Our LLM-based live tax assistance unlocks real-time Q&A at a level of accuracy that surpasses 80% of licensed tax professionals in blind testing.
Come help us build the first full-stack AI tax filing platform.
- We’ve raised $15M from investors who also led early rounds at Netflix, Acorns, Canva, and others
- We’ve hit profitability
- We have ~40,000 paying subscribers (most pay at least $199 / year)
- 20K+ reviews on App Store, Trustpilot, Play Store (average: 4.8 stars)
- 17 full-time employees

About the Role
Keeper is a product company. We’ve known from the very beginning that winning in the individual tax prep space is all about incredible user experience and product strategy. As such, the product role is very central and influential in the organization. You will very much be guiding what others should work on — and with that power comes responsibility. Here are some things we’re opinionated about when it comes to the product management role:
- A unique set of responsibilities
Our PMs own UX design and analytics, which is somewhat unique. On the other hand, our PMs do not “project manage” the engineers to the same degree that is common at legacy orgs. You can learn more about our roles & responsibilities mapping here.
- Crisp, clear documentation
Great docs are the antidote to back-to-back meetings. We try very hard to keep our communications as efficient as possible by doing live meetings only after the context has been shared and pre-read asynchronously.
- A servant leader mentality
You will have enormous responsibility and influence as a PM at Keeper. The rest of the team is giving you that authority because they trust and respect you. It’s a delicate balance and requires a low-ego mentality while still driving clear, opinionated, decisions. Please note that this role will require you to be comfortable with working in-person at our SF office (44 Montgomery St.) at least 2 days/week
What You’ll Do
- Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for an area of Keeper’s tax filing platform
- Conduct user research calls, synthesize user feedback, and surface customer insights to the rest of the org
- Leverage AI to build delightful tax filing experiences and provide Keeper’s customers value through adjacent tools like tax planning and deductions tracking
- Prototype using Cursor and propose other improvements to Keeper’s product development process
- Execute product development with dedicated engineers, tax pros, data scientists, and growth marketers - all here to support you.
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years of product management or adjacent experience. Adjacent experiences include: product design, product engineering, and certain biz-ops roles.
- Strong customer empathy and design sense. You care deeply about streamlined user experiences and are personally offended when you see confusing UX (e.g. the ATM cash withdrawal experience). Product Managers at Keeper own the Figma and are responsible for outlining clear requirements to engineering.
- Fluency with core LLM concepts and systems. Your requirements documentation will include prompting, fine-tuning, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation, and the judgement to translate these into reliable, use-facing products.
- Strong analytics skills. You’re comfortable with dashboarding tools (we use Amplitude), owning post-release metrics, and identifying the most important goals. You’re fluent in experimentation design and know when the answer cannot be found in the data.
Nice-to-Haves
- B2C product development. You’ve worked on a B2C product that values high quality design.
- Experience building 0→1 AI products. You’ve ideated, designed, and shipped a product that leverages AI. You’re passionate about AI, shown through hands-on building, prototyping, or side projects, and staying current on research and tools.
- Experience in high-growth startups. You’ve led small cross-functional teams while juggling a variety of responsibilities.

- 401k
