Fleetio is seeking a product-minded and team-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join the rapidly scaling Marketplace Engineering Team. The Marketplace platform helps customers find and purchase products and services essential to fleet operations, including shop integrations for managing maintenance activities and Fleetio Pay for service payments. Responsibilities:

• Write maintainable code and implement new features connecting customers to maintenance shops.
• Facilitate service scheduling, approvals, transactions, billing, and data entry for fleets.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver high-quality software.
• Engage in design and architecture of features.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable, performant code.
• Research and implement prototypes/spikes to validate assumptions.
• Review peers’ code for quality and knowledge sharing.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years as a software engineer.
• 3+ years with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years with ReactJS, Typescript.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Expertise in data modeling and query performance optimization.
• Experience solving architectural problems with good design.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent written communication skills.

Preferred (Plus):

• Expertise with external APIs/webhooks integration.
• Marketplace development or payment system integration experience.
• Leadership experience in small teams/projects.
• Knowledge of Fleet management industry.
• Experience building APIs for consumer/mobile apps.
