Position Overview
Session Leads are industry professionals providing world-class technical support to learners in their Nanodegree journey. Session Leads meet virtually weekly with students for group work, activities, and short lectures. Students study about 10 hours weekly independently. Session Leads respond to technical questions and monitor progress.
Required skills/qualifications:
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- 2+ years of working experience related to the below skillsets
- Proficiency in OWASP vulnerabilities and secure coding practices
- Experience with Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools
- Ability to conduct penetration tests, identify system vulnerabilities, implement remediation strategies
- Experience designing secure systems, implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Developing tools to monitor and counteract security breaches
- Ability to convey complex security concepts clearly and write effective security reports
- Graduate from Cybersecurity Nanodegree Program is a plus
- Experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to lead student groups
- Student-oriented mindset focused on understanding problems
- Innovative approach and proactivity with students needing help
- Positive character trusted by students creating emotional ties in the group
- Existing tech network and experience in technical conversations & discussions
- Flexibility at current job to take this challenge as part-time external contractor
Responsibilities:
- Manage weekly Connect sessions with students per Udacity guidelines
- Create Udacity Connect session agenda & notes
- Coordinate between students and Udacity Connect team
- Report weekly attendance status & session observations to Udacity
- Attend every Connect session over Zoom; help students introduce themselves; organize groups; keep track of time
- Explain Nanodegree program concepts when needed during sessions
- Solve student questions during Connect sessions
- Report student attendance and progress via Mentor's dashboard
- Communicate with students on Slack
- Weekly check-in on student progress
